Kloosterboer Velsen has achieved the highest level of BREEAM certification in recognition of the expansion and adaption of its existing cold store facilities. The company now operates the first cold store in Europe to achieve the coveted, 5-star BREEAM certificate, at the top OUTSTANDING level. The present expansion, adding 15,000 m² to the original plant, has proved to be approx. 10 % more energy-efficient than any other project of its kind. The cold store incorporates GEA Grasso V piston compressor units.
